This week 80's pop star
George Michael
confessed in an
interview
how he gets "everything
he wants" out of life. From "fastlove"
with strange men in public places to an
occasional "monkey"
on his back, George says it's just who he
is. Even though he's cut back from about 25
to 8 joints per day, that hasn't stopped
some artists, like
Elton John,
from speaking out on the "careless
actions of a good friend". In
response, Michael says Elton can shut his
mouth and get on with his life.
Perhaps George Michael has more "faith"
in
Bruce Springsteen.
If it were
up to "the Boss"
not only would "Rosalita
come out tonight", but it would
become legal in his "hometown"
for her to "ride
down in a tunnel of love" with a
same-sex partner. Even though New Jersey
governor-elect Chris Christie has seen
Springsteen in concert 122 times, "the Boss"
rejected an
offer to attend his inauguration because of
his stance on gay marriage.
Another artist preferring to tell it just "the
way it is" is
Bruce Hornsby.
In a recent
interview
he talked about growing up in colonial
Williamsburg, Virginia where "a
night on the town" meant getting
together with friends, dressing up in
costumes and taunting the tourists. Hornsby
recently
scored a
Spike Lee movie about Kobe Bryant, released
a
new album
and is currently writing a musical about
overnight deliverymen.
You know, say what you want about George
Michael, Bruce Springsteen or Bruce Hornsby
- but at least they're upfront and honest.
Because we all know, even having the most "brilliant
disguise" can leave you chasing a
"tiger"
by the tail.
