This week the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
decided to
"take
a chance" on the Swedish pop
group
ABBA
and the English rock band
Genesis,
as both will finally get inducted on March
15. While Abba
will not
be performing at the ceremony, it is still
up "in
the air tonight" whether
Phil Collins
is physically
able to
play drums or
if the
former Genesis singer
Peter Gabriel
will "turn
it on again" with his old
bandmates. Artists that did not make the
Hall this time around include
LL
Cool J,
Kiss
and the
Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Not only did the Chili Peppers lose a chance
at induction, they also
lost
guitarist
John Frusciante,
who announced this week he has left the band
for creative reasons. And while it's water "under
the bridge" now, the
last time
Frusciante walked out was in 1992 during a
Japanese tour because he couldn't handle the
"californication"
that comes along with being a rockstar.
Sure doesn't sound like anything
Poison's Bret Michaels
could relate to. Not only does Michaels
front one of the biggest hair metal bands
ever, he's had "nothin
but a good time" on
video with
Pam Anderson and on three seasons of his own
TV reality dating
show, "Rock
Of Love". Adding to the bad boy image is a
collaboration
with...Miley Cyrus?? That's right, the 17
year old, Disney Channel Diva is working
with Michaels on a remake of Poison's #1
80's power ballad, "Every
Rose Has It's Thorn".
You know, maybe it's a good thing this
collaboration with Miley Cyrus waited until
now. Can you imagine if she were 10 years
old and we had to hear "Look
What The Cat In The Hat Dragged In"?
