Fans of American Idol who thought
Paula Abdul
was "forever
their girl" will have to face
the "cold
hearted" reality that she is
not
returning to the show this season. For
Paula "the
promise of a new day" brings
her one step closer to having her own TV
show. Abdul recently
announced
she's working on a talk show that will
debut within two years. I guess this
means you won't see her "rush
rush" back to Idol anytime
soon.
Just like you won't see
George Michael
on a
Wham!
reunion. Michael thinks he and former
band mate
Andrew Ridgeley
are too old for such a thing. Michael
also
cringes
just thinking about their classic hit, "Wake
Me Up", which is a "no go" by
today's standards.
Another artist not "in
the mood" for a memory is
Robert Plant,
who doesn't feel a "whole
lotta love" for his former
band. Now that Plant is working on a
second album with Allison Krauss, it's
possible
Led Zeppelin
will never perform again.
That's a shame because Zep guitarist
Jimmy Page
would love to see a reunion. And with
already having played with everyone from
Paul Rodgers
to the
Black Crowes,
the only place remaining for Page to
leave his stamp is...on a
stamp!
Coming soon to a post office in the UK
are postage stamps featuring classic
album covers from
David Bowie,
The Rolling Stones,
Pink Floyd,
Zeppelin and others. Somehow I don't
think these are the last "licks" Jimmy
Page had in mind.
That's it for Retro News I'm Jenni Waylon
for Retro Rewind.
