25 years after the release of "We
Are The World", the song's
creators say it's time once again "for
the world to come together as one."
Producer
Quincy Jones
and pop legend
Lionel Ritchie
are
planning
to re-record the classic charity single
with proceeds going to Haitian
Earthquake relief. While
Sting,
Fergie,
Alicia Keys
and
Justin Timberlake
are likely to participate, "The greatest
gift of all" may be the vocal of
Michael Jackson,
which will be heard on the track as
well.
If you want to hear the voice of
Aerosmith's
Steven Tyler,
you'll have to "dream
on". The band is currently
auditioning
singers for an upcoming summer tour.
With Tyler about to undergo
surgery
on his legs and feet, he won't be "walkin'
this way" for a couple of
years. According to guitarist
Joe Perry,
Tyler is welcome to return anytime, but
for now, the Aerosmith "train
will keep a rollin'" without
him.
If you think that decision is "for
the birds", here's one that
actually is! According to a wildlife
conservation group in Austria, "rock
and roll IS noise pollution"
and say
AC/DC's
upcoming concert there in May
threatens
rare birds nesting nearby. The
campaigners don't actually want the
concert cancelled, just postponed until
the birds have left for the season.
You know, it would be nice if AC/DC
could ignore the "money
talk" and save those rare
birds from "a
highway to hell". Sure it'll
temporarily put them in the red, but
they'll be "back
in black" in no time
at all.
