80's
rapper
Tone
Loc
was
hospitalized
this week after passing out "funky
cold" during a performance in
Pensacola, Florida. Mr. Loc is doing well now,
but eight hours of flight layovers and extreme
heat were blamed for his collapse. At least Tone
doesn't have to do 50 shows this summer like
Michael Jackson.
Even with doctors
warning the
"king of pop" it would be a "bad"
idea to perform because he's too thin, Jackson "won't
stop till he gets enough" of a 50
show run at London's 02 arena this summer.
Earlier this week Jackson
complained to
fans that he only wanted to do 10 shows and that
promoters added 40 more without telling him!
However, later in the week, Jacko's tour
promoter responded that not only did Michael
agree to doing
all 50
shows, he's taking the profits and putting them
into a
trust fund for
his 3 kids!
This sounds similar to what
Eddie
Van Halen
is doing for the bank account of his own teenage son. First, the 18 year old Wolfgang replaced
longtime Van Halen bassist
Michael Anthony
on last year's tour and now an
animated Wolfie
has replaced him in the new video game, "Guitar
Hero: Van Halen". So did Michael Anthony get
fired or did he quit?
Depends on who you ask. Earlier this week Eddie
claimed Anthony
didn't "finish
what he started" and left along with
Sammy Hagar
but later in the week Anthony
responded that
he was "unchained"
from band.
You know, with all this talk of passing out from
exhaustion, saving money for kids, and trying to
keep stories straight you would think I was
talking about being a parent and not a rock
star. I suppose either way, as long as you can
still pass out during the "wild
thing", you just can't "beat
it".
That's it for Retro News, I'm Jenni Waylon for
Retro Rewind.
