It's been 18 years
since 80's pop-metal band
Warrant
had their last hit, so why is former front
man Jani
Lane "seeing
red" with his latest solo
"smash"? This week Lane was
arrested
for sideswiping a parked car in Los Angeles
and then failing a sobriety test. Lane was
taken into custody, where all "the
down boys go", and then found "heaven
wasn't too far away" after
posting his own $30,000 bail.
You know, with pop
star Sting
also having recently
bailed from
The Police,
it would be nice if his next album were a
rocker. Instead, some fans will be "driven
to tears" after learning his
forthcoming album,
"If On A Winter's Night", will feature
quieter songs inspired by his favorite
season of the year. Considering Sting's
last solo
album was all about 17th century music
performed on a lute, I guess not "every
little thing he does is magic".
You can't say that
about "white
and nerdy"
Weird Al Yankovic,
who after all these years, has never strayed
from his simple formula of "daring
to be stupid". His
new song "Craigslist"
is a Jim Morrison and The Doors inspired
parody that pokes fun of anyone who's ever
used the online service to swap cars, find
love or sell that trashcan full of Styrofoam
peanuts!
You know, this may "warrant"
Jani Lane placing an ad on Craigslist
seeking a new car and maybe the help of
Weird Al on his next "smash" hit..."He
Got A DUI".
That's it for Retro
News, I'm Jenni Waylon for Retro Rewind.
